| 内容記述 | One of the distinguishing characteristics of Japanese communication is the use of what are often perceived to be ambiguous expressions, silence and/or lack of explanation, frequent use of hesitation and pauses, laughter and smiling (when they might seem inappropriate), and the use of honorific and humble forms. A review of the existing literature demonstrates the purpose, meaning, and significance of these features. These features constitute an important aspect of Japanese communication. | |||||
