This paper attempts to explicate the usage of ZIBUN in terms of the speaker's intention. Our claim is ZIBUN-form has "core-concept", which represents the speaker's harmonious attitude. Using this concepts, this paper will discuss the various types of ZIBUN-form. We conclude that the speaker's intention in using ZIBUN is a manifestation of the speaker's demanding attitude for the hearer to become the same psychological state as the speaker's.
