This paper aims at demonstrating that aspect is the internal temporal continuity of the situations based on the definition given by B.Comrie (1976) and this function is observed even in adjectives. The fact that not all adjectives indicate continuity in terms of time suggests that there are some semantically defferent types among adjectives. Endo (1995) claims that cognition is a key word to full understanding of expressions with adjectives, and shows that the adjectives can be classified into three types by their cognitive process. This study proves that these three types of adjectives can also explain the difference in characteristics of aspect of adjectives and interpretations of adjectival sentences with terms of time span.}, pages = {81--97}, title = {認知から見た形容詞述語文の時間表現 : 継続性表現の分析}, volume = {2}, year = {1996} }
