| 内容記述 | Despite of successful integration processes in the fields of trade, economy, finance, and legal harmonization, Europe seems to resist cultural integration. On the contrary, partly as a reaction to unification on the legislative level, peoples of Europe appear to manifest their cultural identities on the national level more extensively than before. Cultural and linguistic pluralism in Europe is a part of the historical heritage and as such is treated as an asset. Multilingualism in Europe and in EU operations is an expression of its cultural wealth on one side but a huge burden in financial and human resource management terms on the other. The new concept of the "plurilingual European citizen" articulates the expectation of commanding two foreign languages besides one's own mother tongue. To this end, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages has been introduced as a guide-line for documenting, assessing and monitoring foreign language acquisition with the aim to facilitate intercultural interaction, cross-border mobility of students and of work-force in Europe. | |||||
